When Two of the Biggest Brands Collide

Sunday 25 May 2014

Yesterday I went to explore one of my favourite areas of London - Knightsbridge, so naturally I ended up in Harrods! Harrods is my go-to place when I cant decide what to do on a weekend. I can get lost in there for hours and hours just admiring the beautiful clothes and being able to see runway appearances up close. Don't get me wrong the only spending I do in there is on lunch and cakes or maybe I treat myself to a new Chanel lipstick but I always find it so inspiring and it cost nothing just to look, right?

I have had Pradasphere on my London List for quite some time now so I thought, “what better time to go,” and I am so glad that I did. It costs nothing to get in either (always a winner for me).
"Welcome to the Pradasphere, a collection of remarkable objects arranged to reveal our complex, often intertwined, obsessions as manifest in everything from fashion and accessories to art, architecture, film and culture," a plaque read as I entered the Pradasphere on the fourth floor of the store.

And it really was remarkable. While I was there I followed the tour guide round (twice) as he gave a really insightful talk about the brand and told us so many interesting facts. He was open to us asking questions and really knew what he was talking about. It was amazing to see these pieces up close and be able to really admire them.

The exhibition is only running until the end of the week - 31st May, so I would highly recommend getting yourself down there and checking it out - Im thinking of going back again!

Alexa Chung - New Face of Nails Inc

Tuesday 20 May 2014

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a big fan of Alexa Chung. Anyone that knows Alexa knows she is a big fan of nail art! So anyone in the right mind should be excited for this new launch!

Having previously created an eye liner collection for Eyko, Alexa has now moved onto Nails Inc where she is not only the beautiful face of the collection but has also collaborated with the designers to come up with a fantastic texture based range.

Very little has been given away about the collection just yet but we do know that it is inspired by fabrics and that the bottle has changed from minimal and curved to much more sleek and sharp packaging.

Chung has already joined forces with Nails Inc before where her leather effect nail varnish sold out within seconds! I suspect we will be seeing a repeat of this when the AW14 range is released in August!

Boil it All Down to What Counts the Most

Monday 5 May 2014

If any of you  logged onto Google yesterday you will know that May 4th not only marked Star Wars Day but also Audrey Hepburn's 85th Birthday.

Sadly the Funny Face actress died in 1993 but in her time left an incredibly stylish footprint on the fashion world! Hepburn is known for her classic style - her fuss-free silhouettes and timeless red lipstick. Her look was always very Parisian - something I am a massive fan of at the moment.

One of my favourite quotes comes from Audrey. "Boil it all down to what counts the most: What is the essence of what you are trying to do? What's the most important thing? " This is something that I try to bare in mind not only when I am designing but also when I am getting dressed in the morning and I'm sure this explains why her outfits were always so chic.

We owe a lot of our current trends to this stylish lady - she showed us that penny loafers aren't just for men, capri pants can be incredibly flattering but also how to achieve the perfect winged eyeliner!

Below are some of my favourite outfits and photos of Audrey.

Happy Birthday Girl!
